2. In a large bowl combine the 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of flour, 3 tablespoons cornmeal, 1 teaspoon baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Stir in the melted butter and eggs until well blended then stir in vanilla extract. Set filling aside.
3. In another bowl combine the brown sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon. Cut in the 6 tablespoons of cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs then sprinkle over bottom of pie shell. Pour filling into crust then bake for 50 minutes to 1 hour or until a knife inserted near center comes out clean.
