They are both from Brisbane, Australia. Kate is a stay-at-home mum who loves to cook for her family. She is passionate about food and loves trying new recipes.
Her husband Matt is a self-proclaimed barbecue king, so she often has to step out of her comfort zone when it comes to cooking. Mary is a full-time working mother of two young children. She doesn’t have much time for cooking during the week, so she enjoys spending time in the kitchen at weekends with her husband Michael.
She likes to create simple but tasty meals that her whole family can enjoy together.

Do They Use Recipes on Mkr?
If you’re a fan of My Kitchen Rules, then you know that the contestants are always coming up with new and creative dishes to wow the judges. But what you might not know is that they don’t always use recipes. In fact, sometimes the best dishes come from improvising in the kitchen.
Of course, this doesn’t mean that the contestants never use recipes. In fact, many of them are quite skilled at following recipes to create amazing dishes. But when it comes to creativity, sometimes it’s better to just go with your gut and see what happens.
After all, part of the fun of cooking is experimenting and trying new things!
